I have a 1939 M that has a crack below the axle housing, I have been told the reason for this is a bearing went out dropping the bull gear cracking the housing? a guy has a super M rearend-transmission for sale wants $100.00, (noise in transmission)? will this bolt up to the 39? thanks for any advice.

a lot of them are broken by water in the housing. ice expands and it has to go somewhere. If your tranny is good otherwise it would be a lot easier to fix the crack.

I have 2 rusted bolts left to get out that holds the cover on over the rearend, then i can see what the problem is? if it was water that froze, what would be the best method of repairing this crack? thanks

THE SUPER M REAR-END WILL BOLT-UP, BUT YOU WILL HAVE DISC BRAKES. YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE BRAKES OUT. IT WILL ALSO HAVE A FASTER 4TH GEAR.
