Where is the screen on the hydraulic system of a 240-U which should be cleaned periodically? Also, am I likely to ruin a gasket which will need to be replaced? thanks. Jim

The parts drawing looks about the same as the C. The strainer is located on the left side of the touch-control unit right below the rockshaft. There are 4 bolts that holds it in. The gasket looks like it is 350651R1.

230/240 have hydra-touch, not touch-control system. Slide up to Page 261 (at least in the CD parts book). Strainer looks very similar but is on the right side (near the starter motor), gasket num is 374981R1. There aren't any rockshafts, just different configurations of valves depending on how many your tractor was ordered with (1 to 3). You will see 4 bolts holding on a square plate (maybe 4" by 4") with a round recess in the center.

Thanks for the lesson. As was stated in some posts last week the drawings are not always the best. I found it on page 261, just like you said. Randy
