Ran across some mention in the archives about bleeding the hydraulic pump brought back pressure, but nothing on the procedure. How do you release the air? I drained the reservoir and cleaned the screen, so it makes sense there would be air in the lines.

Stick the air blower into the breather tube that goes down to the tank and blow air into the tank while the tractor is running. Your hydraulics will jump right up.

Ditto on what aces said. Fill your tank and then take the little breather cap off and blow a little air in it. Worked every time on my old 450.

Steve and Aces,I did clean the breather with acetone, even removed the filler plug while running, looks like more trouble than air in the lines. I'll have to dig a little deeper.

The 300 350 400 450 Farmall's had a breather out the top of the reservor under the hoods make sure it is clean so the hydraulics can get air if you use one way cylinder then you can put some air pressure in where the breather is. I found if a pump has some oil in it and it is a good pump it will prime it's self.
