I am running an international 990 haybine and can not get the hydraulics to work properley off of my 350 tractor. I have a front end loader on my international and one of the lines is plugged into the back of the tractor by the pto. when I hook up the hay bine either it keeps going up and down all by itself or when I reverse the lines it goes all the way down and will not raise back up. Is the hydraulics hooked up right on the tractor or is my ram not working on the haybine. Also if I leave only one line hooked up to the haybine the ram keeps going up and down also this is the same coupling that is hooked up to the front end loader. thanks for the advice inadvance. Lloyd,
I am just down the road from you. I am actually in Dalemead (SE of Calgary - just SW of Strathmore) but since it has a night-time population of 32, no one ever knows where I am. I have a 350U Wheatland Gas with 2 remotes for the FEL. I often disconnect the hydraulics that rotate the FEL and use them to operate a cultivator. If you need to check out how the this system works for me, post a response and we will set something up.

Lloyd,
The way my setup works, I have one lever next to the seat which moves my FEL up and down - the lever comes out of the front of the valve body. My second lever is outboard of the first and the lever is on top of the valve body. This lever rotates the bucket itself within the FEL.
When I want to use the cultivator, I disconnect the bucket rotation hoses which go to the outboard lever and use those for the cultivator. That way the inboard lever can still lift the bucket up and out of the way.

Does this make more sense to you now?

Sean
BTW - there is a Wildrose Auction just west of Langdon on Saturday. There is a 1933 John Deere D on steel for sale. I know we are 'Red' fans but any antique tractor is better than no antique tractor.....

Lloyd: Is your 350 a Farmall or a Utility? Does the tractor have fast hitch or standard drawbar? Sounds to me as though your may be hooked into a hydraulic valve that once operated a draft controled fast hitch. How many hydraulis levers, valves and outlet blocks does the tractor have? Can you still operate functions of the loader while the mower conditioner hydraulics are coupled up? Is your loader operated by factory built in hydraulic valves or does it have add on valves for the loader? I'm not saying I have the answer, but knowing the answers to these question will help anyone in determining your problem.

this is a 350 utility I have two hydraulic levers and they are after market installs and no I can not operate my fron end loader when the hay bine is hooked up. I think I have two lines coming out of the block. Hope this answers to the questions thanks for the advice Lloyd

Lloyd: You say aftermarket valves. Does your loader have down presure on the lift? Does the loader have a hydraulic bucket? Do you know why the factory valve or valves were removed from this tractor? The tractor should have had at least one and possibly two hydraulic valves from the factory. Farmall had up to three valves but I'm not sure the utilities ever did. If those factory hydraulic valves have all been removed, it's going to be awfully hard for someone to help unless you can identify exactly what you have and can give a complete description on exact route of plumbing. I question if it can be done without a photo. With aftermarket valves there could be a couple dozen different arrangements.

You did not answer whether you have fast hitch or standard drawbar. Can you post a couple of closeup photos of these valves showing routeing of the plumbing?
