I would like to know from those with touch control/distributor drive pumps how hot their oil runs?

Do the lines get too hot to touch? I'm wondering because the lines on my new live hydraulic/power steering set up get too hot to touch after an hour or so of running... I've ordered an oil cooler for it, hopefully get it next week...

Steven, I have a 49 Super A that I am rebuilding and I do recall that the hydraulics get pretty warm depending on time of year and outside temps.
To be fair about it, I dont know if this is a good comparison because I started taking apart the touch control and the filter screen was plugged solid with crud and the hydraulic oil smelled burnt! It would probablly run a lot cooler with no restrictions! My two cents! Also I didnt have much run time on this machine before teardown!
