Can anyone tell me what the S-V stamp on my 340 serial number plate means?

was this exhaust valve rotator a usual option or is it rare? never heard of one before.

DOn't think it was ever an option -- I don't know for sure when IH started using them, but it was standard on the Super H, probably also the Super M.

An exhaust valve rotator, is just that. With each opening and closing of the valve, it rotates just a bit. This reduces carbon build up.

V..... ....stands for Exhaust Valve Rotator
