The Release Lever for the trans pump is located on the right side to the front below your seat. Simply be sure the lever is held up which relieves the pump so you can move the tractor! Running out of gas???

It's locked up, because by then, you've put the hydro in neutral, which effectively blocks the oil from the hydraulic motor from attempting to turn the engine!

Which is a good thing, because without the motor running, and operating the charge pump in the hydro, there is a lack of lube flow to moving parts, and moving it beyound the point of pushing it a little ways by hand can damage $$$$ parts in the hyro motor.

Most LGT's have a lever, or a knob that you move to release the oil returning from the hyro motor, so it can be pushed a SHORT distance, but even with the release, it should NEVER be pushed or towed more than a matter of a few feet.

I think it's because the transmission would have to turn the engine, so it's not really the pump at all, that's why my little lawn tractor (cub cadet) has a hydrostatic transmission release.
