I have a wide front 560 with a different setup on the steering. It has curved steering arms on the spindles, and the center steering arm has an attschment to it. I was told it was offered by IHC but cannot find it in parts book. This is the tractor I complain road wanders. Can anybody give me any insight of this??

Wayne: Don't know what you have from the description. I had a 560 and 656 both factory wide fronts. The only difference in the two front ends is 656 has a longer center steering control arm that causes it to turn shorter. I know if you put that long center control arm on an SM without power steering it steers harder. There is a possibility 560 power steering may not have the same power as a 656. I never bothered changing my 560 to find out. By then most of my farming was done by 3 other tractors. 560 was silo blower tractor, didn't much matter how it steered.

The short turn kit has curved down arms on the steering nuckles. And on the center steering arm ,theyre's a piece that bolts on where the tie rods originally hooked up,it spaces them out to where they are about a foot apart, and gives an exaggerated turn. I have never gotten to use it,The wide front came with the tractor and I haven't installed it yet.

I've seen a couple of them custom made in my day too. I have a semi-custom set up like that on my H w/Schwartz wide front. Friend of mine has full custom short turn setup on his 504 w/Schwartz. Turn about as short as with a narrow front...
