Just to clear up a small point. The AM in Australia was replaced by an AM 7 Diesel or Kero in 1958 and then the A554 Diesel or Kero in 1962. Power steering became standard as from the 7 series. The big difference between the UK and OZ tractors was in the rated rpm. The B450 went to a bigger bore as the Americans did, but the Aussies kept the 4" bore and revved the motor out to 1800 rpm. Wasn't a real good move. Yes Bundy, the Australian tractors were built in Geelong Victoria in the factory that IH built before WW11. Taken over for war production more or less immediately, and then they got back into tractor production in 46 or 47.Regards, Redfan.

Redfan: I stand corrected, what I learned about British and Austrailian Farmalls, I learned from an British immigrant farmer here in Canada who also had brothers farming in Austrailia. I will admit in the early days of knowing this guy he was hard to follow on language. Hard to inagine we both spoke English.

What were styling of sheet metal on the AM 7 and the A554, in relation to British or American tractors of that era?
