Can anyone help me with information on the difference between a Farmall M and an AM. They seem to be very similar. Thanks BB.

G'day Bundy. I'm tipping you come from up near Bundaberg or attend a lot of B & S Balls.
The AM Farmall was the Aussie built version of the US Farmall M. Identical in appearance but ways to differentiate is to check the electrics. All OZ tractors had Lucas Electrics and the yankee tractors had Delco gear. AM was also fitted with a cast iron sump whereas M's had a pressed metal sump. Regards, Redfan.

Aussie M; In the motorcycle world, BSA and Triumph used Lucas Electrics. They were affectionately known as the Prince of Darkness.
Hopefully the design and manufacture in the Farmall AM things were not as demanding.
Good luck and hope you are not outstanding in your field due to Lucas Electrics.

Yep, and the manufacturer is a major sponsor of a lot of the Batchelor and Spinster Balls (hence B & S) that the young people attend.
They also use a big white polar bear in their advertising.
