I am looking for parts for a side mount fertilizer for a 50’s IH Cub. This is a relative’s tractor so I’m not that personally familiar with it. You can see a picture at>Link

Also can a regular auto radiator cap be used on these? The one on the tractor is shot. One more also is there a good parts supplier for these tractors you can point me to?

Did you find one of the fertilizer bottoms, I had an extra one but sold it last week with the side dresser. I had purchased a old fertilizer hopper on e-bay as the one I had the hopper was rusted out I think I paid about $30.00 for it. The person I sold it to might sell the extra but it would not have the gear on the bottom and the stirrer inside. Also how is the mechanism that adjusts how much you put on.

I found used one from a dealer, but they want $255. I need everything that goes on the bottom of the hopper, the gear, agitator and whatever regulates the ammount. I'm at the dis-advantage of not knowing how it is susposed to look. I would sure like to get one for a more reasonable price.

Jerry, I can't help with the fertilizer hopper but the cub had a non-pressure, thermosyphon cooling system. Do not use more than a 4# pressure cap on it.

It is doing alot of steaming from the cap, while I know the cap is bad (the rubber or gasket is hard and half gone) does this indicate another problem?
