How does a late model H compare with a late model SC? I'm told the SC has 31.72 hp. How will they compare doing light field work? Also how many years did they make the Super H and how did its horsepower compare to the earlier H's. Were all non-Super H gasoline engines the same horsepower? I have a SC but am considering getting an H also. I enjoy variety. Thanks, Fred

Fred,

Among my tractors are a '42 Case SC and a '48 H, both restored. As far as pulling, I think they are very close to equal. If they were on the opposite ends of a chain, I would expect the SC to be the winner by a very small margin. Naturally, a Super H would outpull either one.

The SC is one sweet tractor. Get one and then let us know which you like better.

Farmall H's are like long-handled shovels. They all look the same, but they each have a different feel. As gas changed from 1939 to 1954, so did H's and M's. H's went from like 22 hp to 39.
