Should you have to give a 756 a shot of ether every time you start it.

That fuel advance on the fuel shut-off seems to work best if you get the engine cranking a couple seconds then pull it out a bit - just like a choke on a gas motor.

Maybe on a day below 10 degrees . If the engine is in good shape and the compressoin is up and the injectiors are cracking wright and the injuction pump has the propper cranking pressure it will start on colddays then you should use the cold start on the fuel shut off about half way out.

I bought my 756 310 new and I rarely use ether to start it...even in the winter. Of course I plug the blockheater on the coldest days. The trick to starting the engine is to pull the shut-off lever out approx. two inches. Marv
