I am still itrying to get the rebuilt C-200 ready to put back in. I noticed the new waterpump from NAPA had a threaded hole for the bypass. Upon further inspection it is a blind hole??? Is this a newer design?? It seems to me I would need the bypass to prevent hot spots, cavation or air lock. Do you think I should drill on an angle into the impeller area?? Any ideas?? Thanks, Kent

Kent: How are you getting on with that project. I think I would share the same concerns you have with that water pump. If the old pump had a bypass my thinking is it still needs a bypass. I think I would be going back to NAPA. My 140 has the same type of pump only a smaller version. It had a bypass and still has a bypass. I took mine to a competitor of NAPA and they sent my pump for rebuild, had it back next day. About $60. in your coins.

Hugh, Good to hear from you. I bought the pump @ 3 months ago and have been working on building the new house so the tractor has taken a back seat. Today I decided to drill the hole into the cavity behind the impeller. I gave up the old one for a core, so I couldnt compare. I think it will be OK. I will post my findings once I get it running. I didn't want to give Case IH $8.65 for the rubber grommet that goes behind the water pump to connect it to the water neck so I am using a tire valve stem. I cut off the area that goes inside the rim and trimmed to fit, looks like it will work out. Talk to U later, Kent
