From a recent post I saw that there are quite a few felt washers that one will run into in restoring an H. I know the purists will object to this question but, I was wondering, has anyone found a sheet material one can make substitutes for the felt washers from? I'm doing a restoration-as-issues-come-up style restoration. I'm not after a show restoration - just a decent working tractor that holds its lube where it should. The idea of being able to make the replacement right when it comes up also is attractive. TIA

Wal-mart has felt sheets back in the crafts section. Various colors, too.

The pre-cut felt seals are still available from C/IH/NH. And they're cheap. Lots of people order from Carter & Gruenwald in Brooklyn, WI. and UPS has the parts to their door in a couple days.
