I can't speak for the IH CD parts manuels on CD but I have one for JD tractors from beginning up to the New generation. It is great in that it covers lots of models. As mentioned if you are working on a particular area you can print the page and take to the shop or take it with you to the dealer for parts. It is easier to flip through a parts book to look for something if you don't know what it is called. Cost wise the CD I have cost about what 1 1/2 parts book would have cost. I got it from the company that handles all deere publications.

I got the CD's for the Parts Catalog and the Service Manual for A and B Farmalls. I picked them up on EBay. They look to be scanned images and are of good quality. I like them because you can just print the page you need at the time for what you are working on and dont have to worry about grease mess on the page- just toss it when done with the project.

I'm assuming you are talking about the CDs that come from Case/IH. If you need to research parts for several tractors, very good. Parts diagrams may not be a clear as original parts books. If you are buying other than Case/IH CD, I'd avoid that, as someone may have just scanned parts books themselves and quality would be questionable. If you only have one or two tractors, better to just buy the individual parts catalogs for those tractors. You can get either originals (look on E bay) or reprints.
