Yep, painted it with TSC paint, I have a sand blaster, it will come right off. I already done the hood and the front grill, it has a small ding, right next to the exhaust hole in the hood, the grille is still perfect. Thank goodness!! Just got done rebuilding the carburator, and the governor, amazingly, it has a 4 weight governor on this Super H, when I got it, it still had the wire through the bolts on the governor housing, I removed the wire, I still have it too. I also rebuilt the distributor as well, it is a pretty snappy little Super H, I will say that the block, is a stock bore, 3-9/16, with firecraters. 8043dd cyl head, stock valves, and no port work done to it, Just tuned up on my dyno, I cant really say it is stock, just due to the carb, ignition, and governor work I have done. there is alot of power hiding in them, just takes a little work. In 14 years of farm stock pulling this tractor, lots of ideas for our other 2 H pullers, came from what we learned from this tractor. Dont get me wrong though, it was not a puller at first, it was a farm tractor, I can remember after rebuilding the engine, hooking up to a McCormick 2 bottom pull type plow, and trying to keep up with dads JD 730, Many times I could have been passed, but I still kept on plowing, Looking back and kinda snickering, "HA HA, that ol JD is breathing this farmalls dust for a while!!" Pulled the planter, and done some mowing with it too. No way a hard life, just did not abuse this tractor, As a young man, I leaned how to safely operate farm machinery with these old tractors. Even competed in a 4H driving derby with the ol super H at the fair. Ever see one of those demonstrations at the fairs? They have a little driving course to drive through, you could use the tractor provided, or use your own, to do the course. I remeber as part as the course, there was a hay wagon you had to back in inbetween 2 cones, just like backing into the barn doors I guess, It took me 2 attempts, but that super H backed it in there. narrow front, vs a wide front tractor too, Was also judged on safty as well, they had meetings, and taught safty as part of a 4H project at our fair, and the competition was to test the class. Was a lot of fun, and learned quite a bit from them. It is fair weeks coming up next week, I guess I am feeling sentimental, and that ol super H was always a huge part of alot of tractor pulls at the area county 4H fairs in northern Indiana.
