Is there a difference in the diameter of the steering shaft on a M vs SM or SMTA? I found a Charlyn power steering unit that the guy said is off of an M but he said the shaft was 3/4. My SMTA measures 7/8.

Hayfarmer never knew there to be a difference in the size of the steering shaft from M to 450 in fact I thought the Behlen power steering was rgw same for 300 400 350 450. The werm and werm gear and bolster shaft were difference between the H'300,350 and M'400'450

I didn't think there was a difference either, thought the PS units were interchangeable. I am wondering if maybe the guys at the yard missmeasured the shaft. Think I may give it a chance anyway as I believe I could adapt around 1/8 inch.
