H governor repair

The governor on our 45 H was ineffective (compared with the performance of our 52 H). Temporarily moved the 52 governor assembly over to the 45 to bale hay. (The 52 is currently in pieces as a restoration project). The 45 now works like a champ with no adjustments. Now for my question...When disassembling the 45's governor, found (among other things) the weights with elongated holes due to wear. They are both pretty sloppy. How do I remedy this? Is there a parts source for the weights? I took both bearings (the front large one behind the gear and the thrust bearing) which were both worn to NAPA and they have them. Haven't had any luck trying to locate an IH dealer near me. Also, the spring which broke in two while disassembling, is needed. The one I removed had the threaded ends, but I guess (from the Archives here) that the replacements have hooks and the threaded pieces aren't used. So, if someone has info on where to get the weights (or how to fix them) and the spring, please reply. Thank you.

Parts should be available at your caseIH dealer. Watch for the washer that runs between the "spool" and the weights it must be smooth, they will get groves in it, you can turn it around if the other side is smooth. the area of the weight (lever) that pushes on this washer will get flat, sometimes you can carefully grind this back to a curved look it will help if you have a new one to look at. I have drilled the holes out if there not to bad and put grade eight bolts in for pins. you have to cut the end off a little to get them in.

Sounds like you have done this a few times. Thank you for the tips.
