Is the tie rods on a factory wide front for the 504 out in front or behind the axle? the one I have has the tie rods out in front, but everybody tells me this is wrong. Does any one know which is correct?

they are in front on a Farmall 504, 340, 404,240 factory wide fronts. On a utility they may be behind i can not remember without looking at one.

I have a 340 wide front that is similar to your tractor, it has the tie rods out front PUTTER

On a Farmall 504, the factory wide front has the tie rods out front.

That's wrong. Sounds like someone put an old H or M front end on it, and I mean OLD.

Okay, guess I was wrong. I've never seen any of those models with a wide front with the tie rods out in front.
