wanted to know the size of ring thickness 4 ring piston 3/32 or 5/32 3 7/8 piston it has 1/8 & 1/4 on it

any help would be appreciated.

Ring thicknesses differ from piston manufacture, material of piston (cast iron or aluminum), and by fuel type (gas, distillate, kero, diesel). more info is needed to help you determine what rings are used on your piston.

piston 37/8 cast iron runing on gas,#1&2 are the same # 3 1/8 and# 4 1/4. from top to bottom

???? not sure what ou are saying here... Sounds like mismatched pistons, which is not good.. measure the distance from the top of the pin hole to the top of the piston on each, and indicate if there is any difference.

the piston are all the same i measure them all i wanted to hnow was the size of the 2 top rings 3/32 or5/32 on c-248 m farmall engine cast iron pistons.

Okay.. Inside the piston generally at the bottom of the skirt, or up by where the pin goes thru is a number cast into the piston. It will probably be 4 digits with a D and possibly an extra letter after it.. this will tell us exacally what you need.

justin the only thing i found was a number in all the pistons 1727 thats all.thanks for your help.
