will a 310 German diesel fit in a F560? My 560 has a bad engine in it and I found a 310 on a junk cottonpicker that is in good condition. Any help or info will be appreciated. Thanks doorguy

The main problem is the lenth of the 310. You have to lenthen out the side frame rails to get the room you need. This also means you have to lenthen the steering shaft, hood, side panels, hydraulic hoses, wiring ect. You would have to make fuel lines, throttle linkage and other custom parts. Also you would have to locate a fly wheel and engine back plate so it would bolt up to your bellhousing. It would make a good winter project if you have the metal working skills to make all the needed parts.

I suppose you could get it on the tractor, but its not a bolt-in by any means. If you have a lot of mechanical skill and extra tractor parts it would still be a project that will take time. D310 was a demensionally larger engine in every way.
