I'm looking to get a mower for a Super A to mow a 1 acre field, weeds, tall grass, no stumps.
I've heard that a Woods 59 is a good belly mower. Any other suggestions? I'm lookin' to buy soon. Thanks

You might want to consider the sickle bar mower for your A Mounts on the rear where the draw bar goes Not too hard to find Price any where from $200 up depending where you live. Will handle your tall stuff I used to mow my parents lawn with a 7' sickle bar mower (3 acres} that kept the grass down short

The belley mowers from WOODS are finish mowers and not made for tall stuff. Get a bush hog to mow the first time and then the WOODS will do ok. Your tractor will handle the 6ft one.

Thank Gene,
What model Bush Hog would you recommend, and how is it hooked up. I have a 3-point attachment, but the PTO is over on the left of the Super A. How does this work? I'm going to post a general message on the IH/FA board and on Implement Alley as well, about bush hogs.

I've got an Arts-Way. It is well built and works well. I like that it is rear discharge, so no windrows. Woods are good, too.
