HOW DO I SET THE VALVES ON A SUPER A

Can anyone tell me how to set the valve gap on my Super A? My manual says to set at .014 hot.
I have it on #1 top dead center. Which cylinders can I set at this position and how far do I rotate the crankshaft to set the others? Any help would be appreciated. I could not find anything in the manual to do this.

take out the plugs, roll over the motor and set the valves on each cylinder at TDC on the compression stroke, ( put finger over plug hole and feel for compression) ....remember what we learned in shop class for a 4 cylce engine
1. INTAKE STROKE (intake valve opens as piston goes down) 2. COMPRESSION STROKE ( both valves are closed and piston moves up to compress air gas mixture)..set the valves at TDC on this stroke
3. POWER STROKE ( spark ignites gases and piston is forced down)
4. EXHAUST STROKE ( after firing, the piston is forced down ,at BTC (bottom dead center) exhaust valve opens , piston moves up and pushes out burnt gases) piston is at TDC again , but we don't set the valves on this stoke because the intake valve is already starting to open and begining the 4 cylces all over again

Dave, If you have your # 1 cylinder on tdc you can set both intake and exhaust at .014. I assume you are using the scribed mark on the flywheel. What I did on my 49 Super A, when I had the motor apart, I scribed and filed a mark on the crankshaft pulley in line with the woodruff keys on the crank, so I could easily find TDC without lying on my back. I also painted that file mark white to identify it easily. You can rotate the motor by hand and listen to your magneto click, every quarter turn brings you to your next cylinder TDC. Firing order is 1-3-4-2. You can then set each cylinder this way. Hope this helps.
