Well, I finally got myself a Farmall 100 but unfortunately, it means the Cub has to go (the wife just can't see the need for 2 tractors). That being said, the 100 is sweet and came with a load of Fast Hitch equip. I am going to sell the 2xplow and single disk to subsidize getting a IH215 trip back plow. Next year will see this tractor plowing up a storm. Special thanks to Hugh Mackay for all his help and advice!! Enjoy the pictures

Ramon,
Nice pictures, and Hugh and I are still waiting on the block casting number (referencing your earlier post). Just think of it as doing us a favor and contributing to our education ;) ;)

PS- I used to be the same way as far as "don't need more than 1 tractor", and remember standing next to an M one day thinking "I would never need anything that big"; boy how times change! Now I'm thinking if I can just sell one more tractor I'll be down to only 4 farmalls, and 4 cadets :)

Stan: I think he is a bit like a kid with a new toy. He is too taken with his new tractor to remember our education. He will tame down in a few days. He really should keep the Cub, I kind of like that idea of telling the missus she is acting too old to drive a tractor.

I think in all our years on the farm, I only ever got my wife on the Super A on one ocasion. She thought the skid steer loaders were great for flower gardening and small landscaping jobs. Wasn't hard to break her of the wheel barrow habit. Our daughter was just the opposite, about 3 drives on the Super A and couple on skid steers, then she wanted 1066 with 20' disk. At 85 lbs she didn't look very big in that cab with duals on either side, when she pulled away from the headland. At 11 she disked a 100 acres that day, and she wasn't about to give in to anyone thinking she needed to be spelled off.

Cann't see the need for two tractors! How can anyone get by with just one tractor. Think of the cub as a investment for your old age. How about if the 100 needs to take a day off? What I tell my wife is that the family that plows together stays together. We got his and her tractors and she goes to tractor shows with me now. She started off with why do you want that old junk for and is now hauling a bucket around so she can get on and off her cub easily. Helpful hint, if she bulks at getting on a tractor, tell her ok, and that you understand she is to old to use a tractor. You might end up with another.

I like that strategy. Actually, when the 100 arrived, she actually asked me if she could drive it sometime, something she never did with the Cub. Maybe because the 100 just has more "presence". Still, I think she'll hold me to selling the Cub unfortunately but I can probably use a small portion of the proceeds to more Fast Hitch implements so there is some small consolation. I hear there is a tractor show in Denton here in NC in September so I'll try to get her to come out, maybe then she'll get the Red Bug.

Ramon,
You might want to check into that a little more. The Denton show is HUGH, and unless they changed something within the last year or two, it's always been on July 4th weekend (as in comming up real soon). I'ver been there twice and enjoyed it.

Nice tractor. If you part with the plow don't let it go too cheaply. They are rare.
