Picked up a C Farmall with no serial number tag, the hood has a C emblem. I notice that it has disc brakes. I understand the Super C's had disc brakes and the 123ci engine, but it also sounds like some late model C's had disc brakes and the 123ci engine. With no serial number plate is there a way to determine if this is a C or a Super C?

I just got my 51 Super C home. Some of the most visable differences are: SC has about 2" space between gas tank & top of touch controle, taller grill_about 1" between crank hole and bottom bars C grill the crank hole is almost even with the last bar in the grill, the brake peddles are more curved and the disk brakes are a little smaller. My Super C has no 2pt.

The fastest way I know to tell the difference is to look at the pedals. If the pedals are straight, it is a C. It the pedals are curved back toward the seat, it is a Super C. From what I heard, the curved pedals were put on so it would be easier for kids to use the Super C.
My Super C did not have fast hitch, just the plain draw bar. Also, I don't think the C113 engine had a waterpump, while the Super C with the C123 engine did.
The Super C will also have a raised support under the gas tank, while the regular C gas tank sits down on the hydraulics.
There are some real experts on this site who will surely be able to give you more complete information that this.
Have fun with that tractor! I went through this when I bought my Super C because the tag on the seat only had "FC" on it.

Early Super C's did not have fast hitch, all C's, Super or otherwise are drilled for fast hitch, I believe dealers could get fast hitch for the C after it became available on the Super C.

ks, Even without the serial # plate you should be able to find the serial # on the block by the #1 plug. Also you should be able to find cast numbers on various parts of the tractor to trace it down.

My 52 Super C does not have a fast hitch. I wish it did.
