Removing planter gear in final drive?

Howdy, y'all.

My Super A has a plain metal cover on one final drive and a planter drive gear on the other. That drive gear is in the way right now-- can I remove it without causing problems, or do I need to find another cover plate? It looks to me like it is retained on the shaft with just one big roll pin.

Thanks again, guys.
Darren

It is held on by the roll pin, ours has a bolt & nut. You can remove gear and leave everything else alone.

Hey, TDK--

Where are you at in TN?? We're down in a sleepy little town called Flintville, just a few miles from Fayetteville. It's close enough to Huntsville, AL that we commute in to work on the arsenal there.

You have a good one,
Darren
