I have a char lynn steering motor that i'm planning to put on my H. The motor worked when the tractor it came off was parked. (15 yrs?) How hard should the motor turn when out of the tractor? Or won't it turn without hydraulic pressure. I'm planning on tearing it apart and putting new seals in it, but was curious if it should turn at all when out of the tractor.

thanks for any insight.

Just finished going thru one on my SMTA. It turned easily.

No need to order a kit for it there are only about $1.00 worth of O rings in it. You will need a 12 point 1/4" socket for those bolts.

If you go to www.forceamerica.com you will find everything you need in page 108, 109 & 110 of their catalog.

GOOD LUCK

It's been a while, but if I remember it should turn real hard and sort of crunch as it turns as it opens and closes it's valves.Hard to expalin. It should turn a little with one end in a vise to hold it,not locked solid.
