Hello,

Battery does not seem to be charging. I charge the battery with a charger, starts no problem, but even after running the tractor for hours when I try to restart the tractor nothing. The amperes meter show about 10 on the charge side while running with the 4-point swith set on L (farthest left position). If the Amperes meter is showing charge does this mean it is charging? I have read in other posts about polarizing the generator might this help?

Thank you for any help you can offer...

Use a multi-meter set on DC voltage across the battery posts with engine at a fast idle. If this still has the 6 volt system the meter should
read around 7 to 8 volts with that switch set on
H. If it has been converted to 12 volts the meter should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts. If you have
no charge shown on the meter it could be the regulator or the generator. Hal

Turn that switch to the right, off and it will charge better L & H means low & high head lights not Low and High charge
