I just put in new rear end fluid on my M. Next day I looked there was a mess of oil on the floor comming from the bearing that drives the belly pump. How do you get that bearing out. I have the pump droped and removed the 3 bolts that hold it but nothing wants to move. Any help.

The seal # crosses over to C/R # 16117(Chicago-Rawhide. Bearing is IH # ST-247. Auto parts store may be able to get the seal, but if you go to a bearing supplier you can probably get both, and save a few bucks. If you're going to break the pump apart to clean, don't forget the gasket while at thr dealer. Could flush with a little diesel without taking apart. If you go this route, make sure and let it drain overnight at least.

IH part number is 50839D for the countershaft front seal. Likely that is an old number and the seal is replaced with a newer version. Tell the IH dealer you want the transmission countershaft front seal.

Forgot to say. If there is a Motion Industries outlet around you, take the seal holder/bearing retainer to them along with the countershaft nut (the one with the slot that drives the lift all pump). Likely they will be able to fit you with a seal on the spot.

Quite possibly that is the original seal, C R stands for Chicago Rawhide, I believe that company was an original supplier to IH.

Thanks guys. I will go to the dealer tomorrow. I hope they have the seal in stock. The bearing seems pretty solid so I might pass on that if it is expensive. Do you recomend taking the pump apart and cleaning it while it is out?
