I have a 1947 "B" farmall, I want to mow 10 acres of horse pasture. Would a belly mower work, how wide 4' or 5'. Could use a pull behind bush hog style mower, again should I go with 4' or 5'. Also, someone has recommended using a 3 pt. finish mower, by welding up brackets to bolt to drawbar and letting it run on its own wheels. Has anyone mowed with a "B" farmall; will it handle 5' mower thru thick pasture grass or should I get 4' width. Thanks for any input.

I have a B. I have used it with a 5' pull behind and it does OK. It is more sensitive to the off balance of the mower blades than I like. It is compariable to my Ford 9N. It lugs down in thick grass but pulls through it. Make sure you add the coupler on the PTO shaft. I now use the pull behind on an H. It does better.
I now use the B with a 6' Woods finish mower. This works really good but the grass is not to high. The turning radius is a big plus.
