Any suggestions on how to remove a 2000 loader from an IH 504?

Do I just brace it and back away? How do a brace it? Looks a bit heavy to me. Hopefully someone has a picture of how they do it.

This is great help and will be my first time.

I'm gonna do it in the barn with 4x4s and chains.

I'll also take the advice about the rock.

Thanks guys, I'm going for it.

I've seen 'em hung from a stout tree branch along the side of the road. Four pins, four hoses, and back away with the frame still attached to the tractor. A total PITA compared to a 2350 Mount-o-matic.

I chained the bucket to a post, put blocks under the arms and backed away. It helps to have something else to keep it from sliding forward when you put it back on, and a couple of jacks to tweek the front up or down.

And don't forget to unhook the hoses!

When I remove my loader, I suspend the arms with two pieces of light chain thrown over the bottom chord of a roof truss.

Joe: I used to remove my 2000 loader from 560 always on a concrete floor. I had two pieces of 2x4 hardwood that came up from floor just ahead of front axle and went under loader arms just ahead of where cylinders pin in. On the bottom I had a bolted X of 2x4 that fastened the two upright together. This prevented it from going side ways. I had three buckets manure forks, 60" dirt bucket and a 72" snow bucket. It stays best if you put a good sized rock in the bucket. Just works better with a bit of weight keeping bucket from sliding on floor. I hope this helps.
