Where is the Model number on the old (pre 1960) FarmHand loaders? I need to find the Model Number on the onew attached to the Farmall H since I need to find cylinder gaskets to replace the current ones that leak like a sieve under lift pressure.

Michael,

If the unit is mounted outside the rear tires resting on an underslung frame, it is probably a F-10. If mounted to the axles and inside the rear tires, it would more than likely be a F-11. This picture is a F-11 on my H.

Farmhand also made an older version of that F-10, which could be recognized by a cage over the top of the tractor and yet another by 2 "X"s standing up at the rear instead of a "box" frame. (If this makes any sense).

If it is an F-11 as pictured, look on the front of the cross member. My loader has the serial tag on this piece. The serial # is relevant to the correct seals.

Rick,

Come to think of it, I think you're right.

When I resealed mine, the parts man wanted to know if the cylinders were held together with 2 long U-bolts, which they were.

Maybe the older ones had heads that mated to the tube in a different way? Dunno.

Have accounting office and small farm. This is first chance I had to get back here. Mine must be older than 1960. It has a large shaft on either side that attaches to the rear axles with a shaft on either side at the axle that goes up to about shoulder high (sitting in seat. The two upright shafts attach to a lonnnng hydralic cylinder that extends from that high point down to about 2 foot in front of the tractor where they are attached to the working attachment section of the lift. The outer cylinders are about 3-4 inches in circumference and have rather large collars where the shaft (about 2-3 inches in circumference) goes into the cylinder and the gasket I am looking for is where the cylinder makes a working seal around the shaft. My old parts man died and like a dummy I forgot to keep the numbers of the old work around gaskets he found for me.
