Just noticed that the responses don't agree on years, and that won't help you any. Check casting dates. Find an original cast part, such as the block, and look for a date on the side. It is month, day, and then a letter for a year. I castings were 1939, J was '40, etc. My '46 is a P casting, so look for an L, which would make a '42, or an N for '44. Hope this helps. It's always correct unless the part has been changed, or is a carry-over from the previous year.

Guy Fay's data is correct -- very few errors in that book.

Your tractor is a 1942, barely, 1942 ranged from 80739-96389. According to Guy Fay's data book there were no A's built in 1943 and only 5 B's. Thus the 1944 serial numbers start with 96390. Although the 5 1943 B's would make 1944 start with 96395??

Hi Jason,

My book says it is a 1944.

Later,

Allan
