Started the restoration last August. Complete out of frame engine overhaul, injector pump rebuilt, new clutch, new custom made wiring harness, new gauges, fluids, filters, steering worm shaft and universal spiders, starter/generator rebuilt, new hydro couplers, lights installed (Never had any). Can't wait to hook it up to a dyno.

Looks better than new. Great job. I am working on a 1958 gas model that my father and I bought new.
I have completed the engine, clutch, pto seals etc. May I ask where you purchased the worm gear shaft? I have considered having a machine job rebuild mine, but have not made the move. Anyway
I am glad my kids our out of college, this tractor
restoration costs alot of money. Again great job.

I got the worm shaft through my local Case/IH dealer who found one in NY at another dealer. Said it was the last one available anywhere in the parts system. Your machine shop could surely make one but I'd worry about the correct heat treatment to temper it. I later saw a NOS one on ebay that sold for about half of what I paid for mine. I almost bid on it but didn't. Get your wallet lubed up if you find one. The one I removed was so badly worn you could have shaved with it. Good luck.

Bob,

Lookin' pretty spiffy there! Nice, clean job.

I always look at the rear wheel lugs/nuts first. I see you took the time to do it right.

You've just gotta be proud of that one!
