I have a 1953 Farmall Super M , that has been identified as an Industrial Tractor . I can see the yellow under the red in many places , and it has the stamp on the tag . I wanna repaint it the original way from factory , but I dont know if the wheels are red or not . Can any one please help me with precise paint info for complete tractor the way it would have came from Dealer . By the way the tractor has been traced to a life with the Royal Canadian Air Force . Thanks in advance everyone . I appreciate your help .

Paint colors on industrial model is somewhat of an issue. I have an IH 2444, which is an industrial 444, pulled from the 444 line and outfitted with the foot throttle and heavy duty front axle. The base color on the tractor is red, however the Army Coprs of engineers ordered the tractor painted gray. So IH painted gray over the red before it was shipped to the customer. At a later date the corps wanted all of their equipment yellow, so it was painted yellow when bought from the corps.

So is the origional color red or Gray ? Both were applied at the factory.

Generally such tractors should say International on the hood, not Farmall, and they may have non-adjustable rear wheels. That is not to say that the Royal Canadian Air Force did not simply order a normal Super M painted yellow. I do not know the color code, particulaly if it was specified by the RCAF, but such tractors were usually all yellow, just as the red Farmalls were all red. This is not etched in stone, however.

What kind of stamp is on the tag to identify it as an industrial super M?
