I am rebuilding a 1948 "M" serial#175083. Things I have done and will do to this beautiful hunk of rusty iron. Total engine rebuild full grind on crank power grind on camshaft ported head and manifold may make the exhaust into a dual stack prepressure lube system live hydraulic pump on engine electronic ignition Wide front end ( original IH ) Power stearing unit installed Remote grease fitting for upper bolster Convert to 12 volt system 2 Spool hydraulic valve mounted on stearing column modern seat with arm rests 3 point hitch on back All new tires New shinny RED finish Numerious other 'LITTLE THINGS' THOUSANDS OF MAN HOURS

The guys in the street rod world call these things resto mods. half restoration and have modified. very cool in my opinion.

wouldnt call that a restoration but a very nice fixing up job restorations should only stand for a very good to perfect job of being as orginal and as close to factory as possible but keep up the good work and ideas

It started out as a rebuild project,,,, but I saw some possiblities in making it into a more usable tractor. Our farm could use a big tractor of this size, we do hay, straw, some logging and misc. projects that would benefit from a stronger tractor. I just finish a Ford 841 pure restoration, no funny mods. on it , quite a long draw out affair but it runs good,looks good and I'm a happy camper the way it came out. We have a 52 Farmall Super C I did a few years back, it turn out real sweet, looks and works better than when we got it new. We have a 40 Farmall H that i did a so-so job on, runs good ,looks OK , but i"m going to revisit it again some day. Got a Ford 601 that needs a major rehab. I retire next year, so,,, you know what's comming. LOVE them tractors Like to hear from you again
