Ok I know I asked this question about a week ago about what size the jars were and where you might be able to get one, but what I would like to know is were they made specialy for tractors or were they made for canning as well. I have heard they originaly said Ball Special and were 1/2 pint wide mouth. I like to look for antiques at shows and would like to look for these to use on my Farmall's.
Thanks Steve

Wife brought home some smell good stuff from Walmart that was in a square lookin half pint jar. Check there where they have candles, and other scented stuff. It looks original on the Super A.

The Hs and Ms used 1 pint wide mouth jars, the As, Bs, and Cs used the 1/2 pint regular mouth. As far as I know, the original jars were Ball special, but no one will find fault with you if you use a Kerr or anything else that fits.

I may be wrong and have the wrong thing but I have a Kerr jar on mine a friends mother gave me. I think the correct size is a wide mouth 1 pt. 1/2 pt I believe is a bit small if they were even made. Please correct me if I'm wrong..... ...

Ball Special, wide mouth, half pint. Do you have yard sales in your area? I bought one last Summer at a yard sale .10 cents. Good hunting. Yes, they were canning jars.

I can help with the ID of Pre-Cleaner Jars. They were pint wide mouth Ball Special Semi Square W/6 ribs. The smaller 1/2 pint jars fit A,B,C,Cub, ect. They are semi square w/ribs also but say Ball Perfect Mason. They both have Made in USA on back side of jar. Bottom will have a number and cirles in the glass. Number is mold number I believe. I have several of both kinds but I don't have any pictures. These Ball jars were made in Munice, IN in the 40-50's I think.
