I think it is called the rock shaft, if not it is the part that mounts to the touch control box output shaft, the right hand side. The right front cultivator lift arm attaches to it to rase and lower the culivator frame. Anyway, one of the 2 "ears" if you will have broken off so I cannot use it as it. I have removed the large retaining nut and cannot get the rockshaft to budge from the shaft.

How does this come off without breaking more than I already have. there is not enough clearance between the rockshaft and the touch controll box to get a set of gear pullers under it and the manual I have for this tractor is very limited in the removal of these parts.

Thanks for any help.

David, Once you take the nut and washer off, the only thing that holds that arm on is the taper and woodruff key. I know what your talking about not having room for a puller. What you need are some small steel wedges tapped into that slight opening and apply some heat. It will come off, just be persistent!

Looking at the parts diagrams for the 140 and my C it looks like it is a tapered fit. There is a half-moon key on the shaft. The rockshafts are a little different between the 100/130/140 and the C but basically it looks like they are put together the same. Like you said, there probably isn't a good place to get a puller on there. Mayby a little pressure on the rockshaft and then a little tap on the end of the shaft. Gentle persuasion would be the key word.
