Last time I used Cmore while discing, pushed hard on left brake, it went "thunk" and then clear down...no brakes whatsoever. I'm going down to farm this weekend, and no IH dealer close. What parts whould I most likely buy here in town (where there is a Case IH dealer) to take with me that will most likely fix the problem? I know this is not much info, but I'd like to get brakes working before I cultivate with Cmore. It really was a "thunk" sound when whatever broke or came loose. Thanks much, Cmore

my super C did the same thing the first day i brought it home while i was backing it off the trailer...kinda scary! anyway, it broke the actuating rod , and the spring and spacer went flying....ordered it from a case/ih dealer....pretty easy fix

If you can't get the parts and HAVE to have the brakes to turn (loose soil, etc), just turn right and skip a few rows, as if you were pulling a disk or something -- just be sure to get in the same rows you planted or you will have a lot of cultivator blight.

usually, the "thunk" followed by no brake pedal whatsoever is when the bolt, that goes through the pedal and screws into the brake linkage, breaks. it is not uncommon to happen. if that is what it is, you need the bolt 3/8x about 3 or 4" (extra threads so not just a regular grade 5 bolt), the knob that threads to the bolt, and a jamb nut. the knob and jamb nut go flying on the broken bolt end. maybe you'll find it next year when plowing. the preceding was all from memory, but the parts man will show you what all is stacked on that bolt.

Better to take it apart first to see what broke. It may be just a spring, no point in buying everything, cuz it gets pretty spendy.. and call first before you drive over just to make sure they have what you need.

Yet another reason why I love the band/drum brakes on the C.

Only thing to give is the shaft or the band.

Disc brakes are more complicated, and to me overkill on such a small tractor.

either way, Good Luck!
