I just saw a 340 for the first time, maybe I haven't been looking, but I really haven't seen one before. When was this tractor made and were there many? Are there many out there now? It looks like a nice little tractor. This one was a Farmall, I heard there was a difference between IH and Farmall.

I had a 340D/TA rowcrop it was a great mid size tractor. Problem with the 340 is that they are to new to be old tractors an in bone yards an to old to be new so alot of parts are fast becomeing hard to find in stock anymore. The sheet metal is very hard to find because of just what I said, to new to be in bone yards so It's had to find an when you do it will cost you an arm an leg.

The 340 was built between 1958 and 1963 in Farmall row-crop and International utility versions. It had a C-135 gas engine or a D-166 diesel (diesels are uncommon). About 35 horsepower. It had the 5-speed transmission, with optional TA. There are quite a few 340's around, probably more utilities than row-crops.
