Farmall Folk:

Will one of you with a parts book or factory manual or just one of you who might know, let me know about the length of the left tie rod on an IH 444. Bought a new one from Bates Corp and customer rep couldn't tell me which of the three Bates offerred ( identical except for length) was the correct one. Took delivery by UPS and plain that I have one that is too long.

Want to exchange but need to know correct length. This trac has power steering.

Much obliged.

Tractor folk:

Kajun answers his own question. Pull old tie rod and cut new one to same length. Remove burrs with file and install. All of these rods have the same OD.

Sometimes a mechanic wannabe can figure it out-most times , no.
