On a recently purchased Super A parts tractor I bought there is a pre-cleaner with a canister shape with a plastic side. The plastic part is ruined. Are these plastic parts still available?

Mine looks like it was melted down by muffler heat. Does it need to be plastic or would metal (like a coffe can) work?

You can also get the type that has the glass jar, or the basic one that has only a round cap. These do not melt.-- All will work fine. All are considered original.

Thanks for the information. I have the round type and jar type but I also wanted the canister type for display. Thanks to this good site also and the input from so many experienced and amateur participants.

yes, I have seen them advertized. just start searching some of the tractor supply places. you will need to measure yours because there were several sizes made. It is an aftermarket conversion.

I'm wondering if these weren't an option when new, my Super C has one also. Very low hours, and plastic had melted from being too close to the muffler.

could be but the only one listed in the parts book is the one with round holes and a screen behind like you see on combines and balers.

Page 264 in the Super A parts manual shows two, one for the Super A and one for the Super A-1.
