I have a 1956 cub with a problem with anti-freeze bubbling out the overflow tube. I purchased a new 7lb cap from the local dealer thinking the old cap was worn out. I have a operators manual and fill the rad to the recomended level 2in below the fill neck. I added a plastic tube to the end of the overflow tube to help direct the fluid away from the fan. As soon as the tractor is started you can see bubbles starts to move in the plastic tube. (cold or hot). The cap appears to seal correctly when installed but can't figure ot how to solve the fluid loss. The rad is in great shape and the tractor seems to run good. I use it weekly to mow grass. Thanks in advance. TG

Try a compression test, the bubbles right after startup may be combustion gas from a blown head gasket. Also cubs used a non pressurized cap, or at most 4 pounds on later models. The depth of the filler neck requently prevents pressure caps from working anyway.
