I appreciated seeing this post and the manual for the C3. I have one, well used, but seems to be a good solid mower. The drive belt on the top grove of the middle blade shaft wants to go to the middle grove where the belt to the right blade is. Since I can keep the drive belt in the middle position, I thought I'd raise the pulley on the right blade shaft, but can't get the pulley to move. It's a pulley with the three small stud bolts which I think comes apart, but don't know how. Can someone tell me how to do this? Thanks.

The insert should have six hole in it. Take the bolts out of the holes they are in and put them into the emty holes. Then tighten down each bolt a litte at a time, they will push the insert out, keep them even.

To LWWinPA: I have tried that and the insert doesn't come out. I've had WD40 on it for a week. The small stud bolts could be twisted off very easily. I have even put the studs back into the original holes, retigthened them, and removed again thinking that the insert would work back and forth and come loose. I didn't see any of these pulleys in the manual. Do you know where I could see a drawing of this pulley and maybe I could understand how it comes apart. Thanks again. Dale

Guy:

Click on the Cub Manual link below, then to Cub Implements then to the Mowers. The C-2 and the C-3 mowers are there and there are drawings of them. Should help identify your mower.

I think the IH branded mowers were all made by Danco.
