Sometimes my f-12 starts on the second crank & the next time I can`t get it to pop at all.Had the mag rebuilt,new coil,new condenser new points,new plugs & wires.Timing is right on the button.Don,t know what to try next.Rebuilt the fuel pump last year also.Could it be the carb or the valves?Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Don.

And I thought I was the only one who had a starting problem with my F12.

That is the way it is with the F-12 and F-14. I have both and they may start first pull or not at all. I built starters for mine and now they start a lot easier. I think it is the way the carberator is set up. They flood very easy. Good luck.

got a few myself. they are real crowd shy. heres a few questions. gas getting through screens to carb. is the tee in the top of the tank, so you dont flood out? carb adjusted correctly? got oil in the aircleaner , so it draws up the gas good. otherwise it draws to much air, and no gas. choke and throttle adjusted where you need it when youre starting it? sure the timing is not too advanced or retarded? all of mine start differently. hope this helps.

Don;

I think it is the nature of the beast. We had one when I was little. It would start better cold then warm. I believe we run it on gasoline and didnt mess with distillate.
