What is the screww on the side of the mag for besides grounding the mag out?
There is a nut behind the screw and when you turn it clockwise the tractor starts sputtering, turn it counter clockwise it smoothes out. It is loose so it will vibrate clockwise after a while and make the tractor sputter.

Tiny and Every One Else Pondering Their Magneto:

There is a IH Magneto Service Manual GSS-5035 available on the 'Web - all 78 pages worth , 'coz it also explains how the beasties work.

Go to:

www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/index.html

Click on "Blue Ribbon Service Manuals" and then select from a list.

Cub Site, but covers all Farmall Magnetoes...
