With the w-series tractors, you are limited to front-end loaders, mowers, or pull-type equipment. There is no way to add a 3pt hitch to the rear(because that's where you sit.) They look neat though. I have seen a few w-6s with loaders and plows on them.

My 1948 W4 has no hydraulics, only electrics it has is a starter, I got it from the original owner and he said it never had a generator or lights on it, he also said that when the battery froze one winter they never replaced it, they hand cranked it.As for a H doing a better job,, well its basically the same tractor,,same engine as a H, just low slung like a utility tractor,, I have it for sale in the photo ads,, gotta sell some equipment...Jim

The straight W series was not available with "live " hydraulics. The supers were. There was never a 3pt or 2pt hitch. They are excellent plow tractors, but in my opinion a row crop is an all around more useful machine. (I own a couple of each) Geoff NY

W Series tractors after 1951 had live Hydraulics available. There were a few Os built in the late forties with live hydraulics and a wierd sort of hitch.
