I have a horse drawn IH horse drawn mowing machine that belonged to a great great grand father currently restoring it. All I really like is the metal tip on the cutting blade and the wood guide that attaches to that. I have also heard that a Mccormick Derring parts might interchange anybody know anything about this? Anyone's help greatly appreciated.

Do not know of source for parts but last week I drove through Amish community near Ethridge TN and saw at least a dozen horse drawn sickle mowers at work in fields so parts must be available somewhere. They were cutting thick knee to waist high mixed grass and clover and doing perfect job.

I have seen many old mowers with the model number and manufacturer on the tool box cover. I saw a No. 7 McCormick this past Saturday at a yard sale. It and a horse-drawn rake were sold for $300. I spent many days growing up riding one behind my Grandad's tractor when he mowed the pasture. It was my job to raise the sickle to miss the rocks and stumps.

Your IHC mower is a McCormick or a Deering or a McCormick Deering. The model number is probably cast on it so you will know what parts to look for.

Metal tip??? Are you refering to the end section on the sickle? Sickle sections would be easily available at a farm supply store. Or are you refering to the grass divider that goes on the end of the sickle bar?? That is the part to which the wood swath board attaches. Do you know a part number? The part number may be stamped on the part or cast into it if it is cast piece. If you can find a part number, I have some new old stock parts for old mowers.

Yes Haas I think that is what I am talking about. grass divider that goes on the end of the sickle bar that the wood swath board attaches. No I have no idea for a part number do you mean on the sickle? Or the mower it's self? I will look for somekind of number.

There should be a part number somewhere on the grass divider. I have two or three old ones. I'll look at them tomorrow and see if I can find part numbers.
