am going to buy a int. 504 w/diesel+power steering. was looking at it the other day and wanted to check the hyd. fluid level in it. book that current owner has says the fluid level is checked by removing a plug on the right rear frame. cant find this plug anywhere. the book is not a factory one, could it be wrong? would appreciate any info.

Yup, it's on the left side as you're sitting on the seat. The clutch lever is slightly in the way, as the plug is behind it.

The author is kinda like me. Can't tell my right from my left. Caused me some grief at Boot Camp.

The plug is on the left side. (I think)

thanks for the help guys. might go pick up this machine this weekend if i can make arrangements for a trailer. mike you say that the clutch lever is kind of in the way, would that be the lever for pto engagement, or do you mean the actual clutch pedal?
